As I mentioned on our Thanksgiving page I had a great Thanksgiving and one of the pleasant surprises was the pumpkin pie.  For as long as I can remember I have not particularly cared for pumpkin pie.  In my late twenties I was intruduced to  sweet potato pie, and I really loved it.  This is all the stranger when you bear in mind that I don’t really like sweet potatos at all, even those fancy sweet potato cassaroles that start showing up around the holidays don’t generally impress me.  As I mentioned (see Thanksgivin Page) for years I liked my pumpkin in cheese cake (like this one from  Harry & David), so finding a pumpkin pie which I happily had two servings of was nice, and the biggist surprise of allwas that it was store bought.  I’m about to start up a forum on holiday pies as part of The Countown Center and if you want to participate just keep coming back or sign up to be notified.  For now I’m going to hold off on say what the brand of the pumpkin pie I liked was, but part of the forum will be best store bought pies, best recipes and things like that!

Speaking of Harry & David, there is a great sale going on now, save 25% on a great selection of tasty treats!
